Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Mold Components

RFA Engineering is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing solutions to improve current and new product designs of nonmetallic thermoformed body panels.

Responsibilities:
  • Focus on new product development for nonmetallic body panels of mobile equipment
  • Perform engineering tasks associated with new development and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with other engineers and cross-functional teams including sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and service
  • Use CAD software to assist in the 3-D modeling of components, including light analysis of structural components
  • Create, check, and maintain thorough engineering specifications and drawings
  • Manage engineering changes per established company procedures
  • Be a technical resource as needed to support other departmental needs
  • Develop business relationships with customers, dealers, and suppliers, which may include travel domestically and internationally
Requirements:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Agriculture, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Industry experience with the design of thermoformed, roto-mold, or blow-mold components
  • Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience or hobbies
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, including welding, fabrication, or assembly of heavy structural steel
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license
Desired Attributes:
  • Experience in 3-D modeling software - SolidWorks preferred
  • Desire to work in an engineering environment focusing on robust and cost-effective designs
  • 3-8 years of experience with product design, preferably off-road equipment through internship or co-op
