Job Summary: We are seeking a Government Relations Director to develop and implement strategies to advocate enterprise and state-specific legislative and regulatory positions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legislative, regulatory, political, public affairs, or industry experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to advocate enterprise and state-specific legislative and regulatory positions.
  • Represent the enterprise and its specific businesses in advocacy efforts.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with legislators, regulators, other policymakers, and their staff.
  • Develop strategies for utilizing PAC and/or corporate political contributions.
  • Maintain coalitions and targets grassroots capabilities.
  • Consult with SBUs and CEEs to inform and support business planning processes and proactively raise and address issues of concern.
  • Make internal and external written and oral presentations on behalf of the company.
  • Develop and carry out tactics and strategies to influence trade associations and other advocacy organizations.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of legislative, regulatory, political, public affairs, or industry experience.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal team-based skills with the ability to handle negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office products, most notably Teams, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bias for action and self-motivation to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain both internal and external professional relationships through collaboration.
  • Ability to interact confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders, and subject matter experts while being adept and comfortable with influencing decision-making.
