Human Resources Manager

MARCH Inc., a leading organization in Manchester, CT, seeks a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join their team. This part-time position offers flexibility with 20-30 hours per week and options for occasional remote work.
This role oversees essential HR functions, provides strategic guidance, and supports a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, and a deep understanding of human resources principles and practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Cultivate a supportive culture by providing resources to employees, managers, and supervisors.
- Establish an employee appreciation initiative to promote retention and foster teamwork.
- Facilitate team-building activities to strengthen collaboration.
Employee Relations:
- Partner with managers and supervisors to oversee employee performance, engagement, retention, recognition, and discipline.
- Implement and track employee performance through the company's performance management plan.
- Act as a liaison with the Union, managing employee grievances and fostering positive communication.
Recruitment, Onboarding, and Training:
- Develop a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program to attract dedicated employees.
- Supervise the Staff Training Coordinator to ensure effective onboarding and ongoing training.
Policies & Procedures:
- Design policies that align with company goals, union requirements, and legal standards.
- Stay current with HR regulations by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and networking with industry peers.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Maintain HR records and submit required state and federal reports.
- Administer workers' compensation claims and Leave of Absence requests.
- Participate in safety committee meetings to support a safe work environment.
Supervision:
- Direct the work of the Human Resources Generalist, providing guidance, development, and support.
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
