Director of Packet Review and Rental Processing Unit

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director of Packet Review and Rental Processing Unit in the Department of Homeless Services.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of supervisors who oversee the rental staff responsible for processing subsidized housing packages. This includes assigning cases to staff based on housing priority, following up on cases that require rectification by HRA, and generating daily reports to determine the status of checks.

- Generate daily reports to determine the status of checks.
- Coordinate with HRA to obtain checks and their status.
- Coordinate with shelter staff to pick up checks and submit completed packages.
- Liaise with various agencies, including NYCHA, HRA, and shelter staff, to troubleshoot any issues that may arise and distribute checks to shelter providers.
- Conduct meetings with staff to discuss new policies, provide clear communication, and instructions to partner agencies as needed.
- Utilize Access, Excel, WMS, and NYCWAY systems to respond to inquiries from various shelter providers.
The ideal candidate will possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience in a large governmental agency, business firm, civic, or community organization operating in the area of social services, including one year at the administrative or managerial level.
Graduate education or a license may substitute for up to a maximum of three years of experience in the area of social services, but not for the one year of experience at the administrative or managerial level.
