GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor is accountable for ensuring the efficient workflow of production operations across one or more work centers. This role involves overseeing personnel engaged in production tasks, guaranteeing adherence to quality standards, cost objectives, and production timelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes, communicates, and evaluates performance metrics (volume, quality, reliability, teamwork) for all assigned employees, maintaining accountability for tasks even when delegated.
  • Provides training to employees on production methodologies, quality management system (QMS) protocols, and other organizational practices. May assign on-the-job training for new hires or transfers to senior production personnel.
  • Ensures the quality of produced components, fostering a culture of quality awareness and accountability among production staff.
  • Guarantees compliance with QMS procedures, assessing processes for efficiency and effectiveness, and recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Collaborates with Engineering and Quality teams to enhance production processes.
  • Strategically plans and allocates equipment and labor resources to meet production schedules, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues to maintain workflow.
  • Works alongside Maintenance to ensure timely upkeep and repair of equipment.
  • Conducts analyses to identify root causes of nonconformance.
  • Completes all required documentation accurately and promptly, guiding production staff to do the same.
  • Regularly coaches and counsels employees to address issues promptly and promote effective communication. Initiates disciplinary actions, evaluates performance, recommends compensation adjustments, and participates in hiring processes.
  • Trains employees on safety protocols and ensures compliance.
  • Maintains cleanliness in the work area and ensures equipment is properly cared for.
  • Utilizes software tools for data entry, monitoring, and analysis.
  • Communicates effectively in English at all levels, both in writing and verbally.
  • Holds responsibility for departmental metrics and objectives.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Oversees a designated shift of production personnel across various work cells, potentially spanning multiple shifts as required.

Compensation:

$80,000 - $95,000 Annually
