Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Associate to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a Laboratory Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting the laboratory's daily operations, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our testing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and organize samples for testing, including sample racking, aliquoting, and tube preparation.
  • Label, handle, process, or prepare, and transport and store specimens.
  • Identify sample problems and assist in resolving them appropriately.
  • Prepare testing equipment and assist with preventive maintenance.
  • Assist licensed personnel in pre-analytic and post-analytic testing activities.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of reagents or media.
  • Inventory and order consumable items, including reagents and supplies.
  • Perform data entry and transcribe data from previously recorded results.
  • Assist in the performance of quality control procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (required)
  • 3 years of laboratory experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong typing skills desirable
  • Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with management, co-workers, and clients
Working Conditions

The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects. Objects in the weight range of 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects in the weight range of 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally and objects in the weight range of 26 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted and carried.

Performs repetitive tasks with dominant hand. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods. Have good eye and hand coordination.
