Position Overview:
We are seeking a temporary Executive Sous Chef to oversee and coordinate the kitchen staff in the procurement, production, preparation, and presentation of all culinary offerings within a safe and sanitary environment. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with all standards and regulations while delivering high-quality, competitive products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily food production, preparation, and presentation for the hotel's dining facilities and room service, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage Human Resources within the kitchen, focusing on attracting, retaining, and motivating staff while ensuring a safe work environment. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Ensure the maintenance and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment, complying with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and control labor and food costs, preparing reports to ensure budgetary goals are met.
  • Promote safety initiatives to minimize risks and related expenses.
  • Assist the Executive Chef in developing and implementing seasonal and special menus.
  • Assume the Executive Chef's responsibilities in their absence.
  • Maintain regular attendance and availability for scheduled shifts.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of post-secondary education, preferably in culinary arts.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced knowledge of food service principles and practices, including management of personnel and complex problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with hotel operations, including marketing, safety programs, and business planning.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and develop team members.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to various audiences.
  • Compensation range: $75K-$80K.
