About the Role:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Type One Energy, you will play a crucial part in the development of our cutting-edge stellarator fusion power plants. Your primary responsibility will be to design and integrate various systems and components, including vacuum vessels, divertors, and plasma-facing components. This is a unique opportunity to work on a first-of-a-kind project that has the potential to revolutionize the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate design requirements into functional stellarator components and systems.
  • Develop system and component designs and associated technical specifications for our stellarator systems.
  • Analyze and align the interface requirements between and among stellarator systems.
  • Develop procurement packages.
  • Resolve any technical questions that may occur during the fabrication efforts.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline; Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience with design of first-of-a-kind components.
  • Familiarity with Computer-Aided Design and Analysis software.
  • Experience with design of fusion energy systems and equipment is desirable.
  • Experience with Siemens NX CAD software is highly desirable.
  • Experience operating within a PDM environment in CAD.
