Senior Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Manager to join our team at Chobani. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with various tax regulations and laws.
Key Responsibilities- Public Company Tax
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions, including current and deferred tax expenses, 704(b) revaluation gain, and 743(b) basis step-up.
- Track and report on all members of the Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA), including exchanges with the People team and calculation of exchange schedules, tax basis schedules, and TRA benefit payments.
- Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Calculate and track all required tax distributions to Pubco and LLC members.
- Assist with SEC quarterly and annual disclosures for income tax and TRA.
- Prepare facility valuations and updates to compute the FMV balance sheet for TRA reporting purposes.
- Tax Planning and Strategy
- Assess and forecast the impact of the organization's tax liability.
- Plan and organize Federal & State tax compliance policies & procedures.
- Research and document Federal & State tax issues and planning opportunities to minimize tax impact.
- Tax Return Preparation and Review
- Prepare consolidated US federal and state income tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
- Review and reconcile the tax fixed asset detail register in FAS to the SAP details, including identifying QIP assets.
- Other Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of state sales tax returns.
- Prepare tax rate forecasts throughout the year, including federal and state effective tax rates and other items having a tax rate impact.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting of taxes and tax footnote disclosures.
- Manage annual state report filings, including required state licenses.
- Manage all aspects of Federal, State & Local income/franchise tax and sales audits, and develop supporting positions and documentation.
- Participate in tax planning and special projects, including mergers and acquisitions.
- Prepare all required real and personal property tax filings, including working with consultants to determine and file in the most tax-efficient manner.
- Manage directly outside tax consultants and other third-party relationships.
- Assist in the development and support of systems enhancements, improvements, and updates.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA, and 8+ years prior experience in a corporate tax environment.
- Multi-location experience preferred.
- Avalara tax experience preferred.
- Proven analytical thinker with the ability to take initiative.
- Strong work ethic and ability to problem-solve independently.
- Ability to multi-task and drive results.
- Proficient knowledge of basic software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, FAS Fixed Asset Software, Thompson Reuters Information Reporting, and Avalara Sales Tax.
- Ability to conduct research using various sources, including BNA and CCH, and effectively communicate results.
- Background in Federal, State, Local, and International taxation and compliance.
- Ability to manage projects and meet tight deadlines.
