Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Plan and execute cooling tower replacement, repair, restorations, and maintenance projects from start to finish.
- Develop project timelines and allocate resources efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Coordinate with clients and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage project budgets and control costs.
- Technical Leadership: Conduct thorough inspections of cooling towers to diagnose and assess technical issues.
- Utilize power tools for various tasks, including cutting, drilling, and installing components.
- Develop and implement repair strategies for complex issues like mechanical failures, scale buildup, or corrosion.
- Oversee new cooling tower installations and commissioning, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Learn and integrate laser alignment techniques for belt-driven and shaft-driven systems to improve performance.
- Apply surface-level knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems to assist in diagnosing and resolving minor issues related to cooling tower operation.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of cooling tower technicians and laborers.
- Ensure tasks are assigned based on team members' skills and project needs.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project progress, technical challenges, and safety protocols.
- Provide ongoing training to team members, focusing on power tool safety, new technologies, and repair techniques.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies on all job sites.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and regular safety audits to ensure compliance with industry safety standards.
- Ensure all team members properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow fall protection procedures.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout each project.
- Conduct final inspections to ensure completed projects meet or exceed client specifications.
- Client Relations: Serve as the point of contact for clients on job sites, ensuring regular communication regarding project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Provide technical advice to clients on optimizing cooling tower performance and extending equipment life.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed project logs, tracking work performed, materials used, and man-hours spent.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on tower condition, completed work, and recommendations for future maintenance.
- Manage and update all technical documentation, including operating manuals and maintenance schedules.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance, repair, and replacement.
- At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role managing field service teams.
- Knowledge of cooling tower components, including fill, fans, gearboxes, and water distribution systems.
- Strong proficiency in the use of power tools and equipment for cooling tower maintenance and repair.
- Surface-level knowledge of plumbing & electrical systems with ability to assist in diagnosing & resolving basic issues.
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Willingness to learn and implement new technologies, including laser alignment techniques.
