Job Summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a highly skilled Title IX Compliance Officer to lead efforts across the University to ensure compliance with federal Title IX policies and related federal and state statutory and regulatory requirements regarding sex and gender-based discrimination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a long-term strategic plan for the University's adherence to Title IX and all related policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of related programs, services, and education/outreach for students, staff, and faculty.
  • Manage the University's response to all Title IX complaints and ensure timely and thorough completion of all Title IX investigations.
  • Monitor gender equity and the application of Title IX policies within Intercollegiate Athletics.
  • Consult with University leadership regarding the staffing structure and administrative needs of units which support the University's adherence to Title IX.
  • Organize and maintain grievance files, disposition reports, and other compiled records regarding complaints of sexual harassment and other gender discriminatory practices.
  • Prepare annual statistical reports on the incidences of gender and sexual harassment and sexual misconduct.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of assessment instruments to measure the reach, effectiveness, and impact of Title IX related initiatives.
  • Maintain the University's Title IX database and website.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree or higher plus five years of related Title IX, Title VII, VAWA and Clery knowledge and experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A Juris Doctor degree is preferred.
  • Advanced level of knowledge regarding the Office of Civil Rights' procedures related to Title IX adherence in higher education.
  • Proven strategic leadership experience in the implementation of Title IX policies and procedures.
  • Excellent judgment, organizational, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and presentation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate collaboration among individuals and units within a multi-campus, highly interdisciplinary environment.
