Position Summary:

The Senior Scientist in Biology will lead the development and execution of in vitro studies to evaluate novel drug conjugates for applications in oncology and other areas of unmet medical need. The position is lab-facing and on-site. Title and compensation package will be based on experience and relevant skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and execute on the development and optimizations of in vitro biochemical and cellular assays to evaluate novel payloads, antibodies, and drug conjugates on cell culture and ex vivo samples.
  • Oversee and contribute to the design and execution of in vitro studies for target validation.
  • Establish robust in-house capabilities to perform in vitro experiments with high throughput.
  • Contribute to the understanding of program biology and participate in new target recommendations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with protein sciences and chemistry teams.
  • Oversee cell line procurement, evaluation of optimal culture conditions, expansion, storage, and cell line inventory.
  • Participate in biology and project teams with clear communication and presentations.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Ph.D. with a degree in cancer, cell, or molecular biology or a closely related field with > 6 years of experience or equivalent.
  • Strong hands-on experience in designing and executing in vitro experiments to validate targets and treatment ideas using ADCs, mAbs, degraders, or small molecules.
  • Expertise in target validation and cell signaling work is preferred.
  • Experience with flow cytometry, cell culture, cell viability assays, Western blot analysis, cell-based fluorescence and chemiluminescence assays, and cell line engineering.
  • Proven capabilities in maintenance of cell line health and longevity.
  • Experience with handling animal and human tissues.
  • Highly organized, diligent, and quality-focused with good computer and documentation skills.
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills paired with the ability to excel in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills:

  • Good utility of bioinformatic tools for target validation.
  • Experience in IHC and/or proteomics.
