Position Overview:
As a Patient Services Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment both in person and via telephone.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide prompt responses to inquiries and direct issues appropriately.
  • Enhance patient satisfaction by managing provider schedules efficiently.
  • Inform healthcare providers of patient arrivals in a timely manner.
  • Reassure patients by addressing their concerns and providing clear information.
  • Maintain up-to-date patient records to ensure access to treatment information.
  • Verify financial documentation and process patient payments while managing third-party claims.
  • Oversee billing responsibilities and ensure accurate payment processing for patients.

Additionally, you will:
  • Manage accounts receivable and analyze denial reports.
  • Review patient accounts for outstanding balances and credit discrepancies.
  • Facilitate the collection of unpaid amounts from patient visits.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Practice Administrator regarding authorizations and denials.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Proficient in building and sustaining effective relationships with colleagues, patients, and the community.
  • Familiarity with office equipment, including telephones, computers, and copiers.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary.
  • Experience in pediatric and family billing and coding is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a biller in a medical practice setting is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred; experience with eClinicalWorks is a significant plus.
