Early Childhood Education Programs
Our Early Head Start initiative is designed to support children aged 0 to 5 and their families, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills and confidence for a successful transition into formal education. The program encompasses comprehensive health services, nutritional support, and developmental assessments to foster holistic growth.
Role Summary
The Early Childhood Educator will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 2-3 years, facilitating their social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development. The primary objective is to promote social competence among the children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging curriculum tailored for children in both morning and afternoon sessions, incorporating individual and group activities that encourage learning and parental involvement.
- Maintain a dynamic learning environment that caters to the developmental needs of each child, fostering growth in various domains.
- Conduct daily planning, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
- Observe and assess children's developmental milestones, setting individualized goals to support their unique needs.
- Design activities that enhance the role of parents as primary educators, promoting family engagement in the learning process.
- Reflect the diverse cultural backgrounds of the children in the classroom environment and activities.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support the overall mission of the program.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Successful completion of a background check, including fingerprint clearance and verification of personal and professional references.
- Proof of health clearances, including TB testing and vaccinations.
- Ability to engage with children in an active environment, including physical requirements such as lifting and moving quickly.
Educational Background:
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- A minimum of 24 units in Early Childhood Education, including 6 units focused on infant and toddler development.
- Eligibility to obtain a Child Development Teacher Permit.
Experience:
- Prior experience working with infants and toddlers.
- At least 6 months of practical experience in a classroom setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience specifically with infants and toddlers.
- Two years of overall teaching experience.
- Completion of coursework in Adult Supervision and additional units in Infant and Toddler education.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
