Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Early Childhood Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of case management services for children from birth to three years of age.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide leadership and strategic direction for Early Start initiatives.

2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure adherence to federal and state regulations.

3. Act as the agency's representative and liaison with state and local committees, as well as community organizations involved in the Early Start program.

4. Organize and facilitate workshops, outreach programs, lectures, and training sessions for staff, families, and professionals within the community.

5. Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the agency's software systems.

6. Collaborate closely with Clinical Specialists to guarantee the availability of resources and timely delivery of services and support.

SUPERVISORY ROLE:

Oversee a team of twenty (20) staff members within the Early Start Unit, responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit's activities. Directly supervise support personnel and execute supervisory responsibilities in alignment with organizational policies and relevant laws. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; and addressing employee concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity, or four to ten years of related experience and/or training; or a comparable combination of education and experience.

Experience in early childhood settings, particularly with individuals diagnosed as developmentally disabled or delayed, is preferred.
