Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Early Education Director to join our team at the YMCA Cape Cod. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our early childhood education programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Oversight: Provide daily oversight of center operations, ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance standards, EEC Licensing regulations, and other relevant standards.
  • Facility Management: Ensure compliance with facility health and safety standards and work with facility staff to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and support staff in their roles, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Community Engagement: Foster relationships with community partners and stakeholders to promote the Y's mission and programs.
  • Program Development: Collaborate with the Head Start and Early Head Start Education Director to develop and implement high-quality programs that meet the needs of our children and families.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in child development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Social Work, Sociology, or Childcare.
  • Certifications: Meet Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) requirements as a Director II and Large Group School Age Program Administrator. CPR and First Aid certifications required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in early childhood education, child health, mental health, or disabilities services. Prefer experience with Head Start and bilingual settings (Spanish/English).
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in budget management, staff supervision, and training and program development.
