The Child Development Play Specialist role at Cape Cod Toy Library Inc is a vital position that plays a key part in advancing the organization's mission. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director to support and expand program offerings, including developing collaborative outreach initiatives to support early intervention practitioners, autism specialists, social workers, and the children/families they serve with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and substance use disorders.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Education, Child Development, Early Intervention, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work, and 10+ years of relevant experience. A Master's Degree and State of MA licensed LCSW, LICSW, LMHC with specialized training in special needs is preferred. The successful candidate will be responsible for building meaningful relationships with children and families, facilitating play experiences, supporting parents/caregivers, guiding caregivers' selections of play materials, and providing educational play-based learning programs for families with children with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement collaborative outreach initiatives to support early intervention practitioners, autism specialists, social workers, and the children/families they serve.
  • Build meaningful relationships with children and families, and facilitate play experiences that support their interests and developmental needs.
  • Support parents/caregivers through their parenting journey, and guide caregivers' selections of play materials to support children's specific developmental needs.
  • Provide educational play-based learning programs for families with children with disabilities, including individual family appointments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Education, Child Development, Early Intervention, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree and State of MA licensed LCSW, LICSW, LMHC with specialized training in special needs.

Schedule: Friday and Saturday.
