Duties
  1. Provide home visiting for young parents, teaching them about proper baby care, promoting nurturing and attachment, and ensuring they have a solid understanding of healthy child development.
  2. Work with parents on achieving personal goals and participating in group support with families.
  3. Participate in community outreach and help families access services in their communities.
  4. Serve as a role model and give support and encouragement to parents and their families to help raise healthy children.
  5. Track, record, and maintain participant data as required.
  6. Disseminate appropriate materials in strategic places throughout the community detailing the need for early prenatal care, parenting education, and prevention of child abuse.
  7. Participate in on-the-job training in infant care, nutrition, parenting skills, childbirth education, and child development as required by funders and Health Imperatives.
Requirements

High school diploma and three to five years of early childhood experience or bachelor's degree in social work, early childhood education, human services, or related field and one to three years of early childhood experience.

Travel required. Reliable transportation, valid MA driver's license, auto insurance, registration, and a safe driving record required. Knowledge of community resources helpful. Excellent written and spoken English language skills. Must maintain a flexible schedule.

Bilingual in Portuguese, Spanish, or Haitian Creole preferred.
