GENERAL FUNCTION In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery, installation, and on-site training for new machinery. You will also provide on-site repairs, troubleshooting assistance, new equipment validation, and manage shipping and other operational activities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver diagnostics and customer support through telephone and email, maintaining a high standard of professionalism and service.
  • Comprehend all facets of machinery design and operation, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Understand the chemistry application processes and interactions related to our coating solutions.
  • Conduct on-site field service repairs to support our products at customer locations, including lab procedures such as tinting, surfacing issues, and cleaning processes.
  • Oversee the delivery, installation, and training of new equipment at customer sites.
  • Complete service reports that detail machine service, process modifications, and training conducted during customer visits.
  • Prepare equipment for customer use and ensure its proper operation through thorough testing.
  • Schedule customer visits or repairs while adhering to travel expense guidelines.
  • Repair and refurbish used equipment and fulfill other shop responsibilities.
  • Participate in optical trade shows, demonstrating products and providing valuable information.
  • Continuously assess and enhance processes to streamline tasks, eliminate non-value-added activities, and reduce costs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to company and manufacturer policies, ensuring compliance with attendance and safety regulations, while safeguarding proprietary and HIPAA-protected information.
  • Assist colleagues as needed to ensure timely completion of work and maintain a balanced workload.
  • Collaborate effectively with coworkers, demonstrating a positive attitude.
  • Deliver a satisfactory quantity and quality of work within required timelines.
  • Provide appropriate training, guidance, and technical support to less experienced team members.
  • Attend in-house or sponsored training sessions as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

This position may involve exposure to hazardous substances/chemicals, necessitating safety training. Regularly scheduled and unscheduled travel, including trips outside the lower 48 states, is required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in a technical or mechanical role.
  • Strong aptitude in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of direct interaction with customers, prioritizing their satisfaction.
  • Capability to lift and/or move over 60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this role, including close vision and color vision.
  • Travel by automobile and airplane is necessary, including international travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience and knowledge of ophthalmic laboratory operations is preferred.

Employee compensation is determined by various factors, including geographic location, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, a competitive bonus and/or commission plan may be offered, complementing a comprehensive total rewards package.
