Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team at LER TechForce. This role involves working collaboratively within a group of electrical and controls experts, focusing on the design, integration, start-up, testing, and maintenance of industrial control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Software Design and Development:
    Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions based on thorough analytical judgment and team collaboration. Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and customer specifications, including safety regulations. Write clean, modular, and maintainable code, while understanding all functional requirements prior to the design phase. Create project outlines and secure approvals from stakeholders.
  • Control Systems Development:
    Maintain and develop PC-based equipment and motion control software using Beckhoff TwinCat. Design and implement PLC control and safety software across various programmable controllers, including Siemens and Allen Bradley systems. Create HMI software tailored to specific project needs.
  • Technical Documentation:
    Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including operator manuals and training materials, to support software implementation and user training.
  • Service and Support:
    Assist the Field Service Group with installations and software updates. Provide troubleshooting support to field technicians and engineers, both remotely and on-site. Participate in an on-call service program and conduct occasional customer visits for project discussions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in designing industrial control systems, particularly in hydraulic and mechanical power presses.
  • Proficiency in Beckhoff TwinCat, Allen Bradley RS Logix, and Siemens programming environments.
  • Experience with motion control and industrial networking protocols.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
