About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Family Law Paralegal to join our team at McKean Smith LLC. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a passion for family law to utilize their expertise and contribute to the success of our firm.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Washington family law, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. They will be responsible for supporting attorneys in preparing legal documentation, conducting research, and managing cases.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to prepare legal documents and process transactions
  • Interview clients and expert witnesses, conduct research, and analyze data
  • Draft legal documents, including discovery motions, summary judgment motions, and appellate briefs
  • Investigate factual information, perform legal research, and summarize data
  • Manage cases and files, organize and maintain records
  • Perform factual and technical investigation and analysis of case issues
  • Assist in all phases of case preparation, including discovery and trial
  • Prepare for and attend trials, coordinate trial exhibits, and prepare jury instructions
  • Monitor legal fees, budgets, and project status
  • Provide general logistical support and assist in maintaining legal files
  • Assist with special projects and contribute to the development and implementation of office systems and procedures

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Washington family law or equivalent
  • Certification from an ABA-approved paralegal training program or equivalent
  • Strong research skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, G-Suites, Clio (preferred)
  • Commitment to excellence, high standards, and a willingness to learn and grow

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with 1 hour unpaid lunch. Billable hours requirement: 125 hours/month or 1500/year.
