Field Service Engineer II (C2) – Installation Team

Travel Requirement: 70% - 90%

As a Field Service Engineer, you will operate in our cutting-edge facility and at client locations worldwide, representing Applied Materials and being a vital part of a dynamic and diverse team.

We equip our Field Service Engineers with the skills to develop and maintain the technology that is essential for the production of semiconductor chips and related materials on a daily basis.

You will collaborate with global clients to install, service, and upgrade their Applied Materials machinery, providing exceptional support for high-value production systems.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Assist senior engineers in the installation of advanced customer equipment, conduct scheduled preventive maintenance, and perform corrective maintenance and upgrades.
  • Adhere to training procedures and published task plans to test equipment and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Complete necessary job documentation, safety training, and procedures for parts processing.
  • Represent Applied Materials professionally to clients, embodying a customer-first approach.
  • Comply with the company's and customer's on-site requirements, including safety, environmental, and health guidelines.

Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • An associate degree in electronics or engineering technologies, or equivalent experience, or completion of military technical training with field experience.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on detailed documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic mechanical knowledge in areas such as pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum technology, or thermodynamics.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and their proper use, including a digital multimeter.

Preferred Experience:
  • 2–4 years of experience in the semiconductor industry or a related equipment support field.

Work Environment:
  • Expect to travel approximately 70% - 90% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
  • Work on a rotational basis and in shifts to ensure continuous customer support.
  • Physical requirements include lifting at least 35 lbs., working in a clean room environment while wearing protective gear, and the ability to perform various physical tasks.
  • A valid driver's license and passport are necessary.
