Job Title: Budget Planning Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Budget Planning Specialist to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for assisting with the oversight of daily operations and activities. This role requires a highly advanced level of technical and consultative work, with a focus on budget planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist Branch Manager in implementing goals and objectives, developing guidelines, policies, and procedures
* Coordinate and evaluate Branch activities, monitoring compliance with federal and state laws, rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures
* Provide leadership in budget planning for the agency, making recommendations to Budget leadership regarding the operating budget
* Serve as Team Lead, leading technical staff performing financial analysis and providing consultative and technical services to Branch analysts, DSHS program staff, other governmental agencies, and internal and external work groups

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
* 5+ years of experience in budget planning and analysis, with a focus on government finance
* Strong knowledge of budget and forecasting management practices and operations
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound technical judgments
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals
