Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and contribute to technical communications on subjects related to Critical Minerals & Materials.
  • Participate in stakeholder engagements, workshops, and roundtables to discuss CMM-related fields such as permanent magnets, wide-bandgap semiconductors, and/or energy storage.
  • Conduct technical merit review for RD&D and Consortia concept papers and proposals.
  • Provide technical support and documentation for RD&D and Consortia program management activities.
  • Work closely with Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) AMMTO program managers and staff in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Support analysis related to CMM supply chains, related technical areas, and markets.
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with Advanced Materials and Manufacturing programs and technologies, specifically Safety System Management (SSM) and Critical Minerals & Materials portfolio.
  • Master's degree or higher with 5+ years of experience or a bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • Experience in research settings and/or industrial/manufacturing settings in critical materials or a critical materials-related field.
  • Technical background and knowledge with technology scale-up, supply chain analysis, and/or energy efficiency strategies in critical materials.
  • Proven analytical and written communication skills on highly technical subjects.
  • Strong interest in energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and mitigation technologies, and clean energy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced analytical and Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel working on self-managed tasks and as part of a highly dynamic collaborative team.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience in facilitating discussions among diverse stakeholders to identify opportunity areas and solutions to challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working or collaborating with DOE or national laboratories.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and team working skills.
  • Strong ability/interest in making connections and building collaborations.
Benefits:

BGS offers a competitive total compensation package to eligible employees, including Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation, 401K, Long and Short-Term Disability. Starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $100,000 and $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
