Job Title: Insurance Manager Collections

Medix is seeking an experienced Insurance Manager Collections to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and ensuring excellent client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet monthly revenue budget targets for two offices
  • Collaborate with the operations manager to maintain strong client relationships and provide feedback during conference calls as needed
  • Recruit and train staff, as well as oversee their development and cross-training
  • Counsel staff on personnel issues, including reviews and disciplinary actions
  • Assist the support manager with placement files, payment posting, and reconciliation
  • Implement new client onboarding processes
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma with at least three years of experience in collections or hospital insurance collections, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of healthcare A/R Cycle
  • Experience managing a large staff in a hospital business office, multi-physician practice, CBO, or collection agency insurance department
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, FDCPA, and FCRA laws, with successful completion of FDCPA and HIPAA Standards exams
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday during normal working hours
  • Knowledge of various insurance programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, Auto, Work Comp, Liability, Crime Victims, and State and Federal Insurance Programs
  • Functional knowledge of multi-patient accounting systems, such as Epic, MediTech, McKesson Star, AS400, etc.
  • Understanding of ICD9, ICD10, DX, HCPCS, CPT codes, and DRGs
  • Ability to interpret EOBs, denials, and medical records data
