Position Overview
The Patient Services Associate (PSA) I plays a crucial role in enhancing the experience of patients and customers by professionally managing the arrival and departure processes associated with their visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve primarily at the front desk of an outpatient facility, ensuring accurate verification of insurance, referrals, and patient demographic details.
- Uphold the standards of the Jefferson Experience by emphasizing prompt and courteous interactions with all patients and visitors, facilitating an efficient flow to examination rooms.
- Engage with colleagues, visitors, and other staff in alignment with the core values of Jefferson.
Operational Duties
- Execute check-in and check-out procedures, manage point-of-service activities, and schedule patient appointments using EPIC.
- Greet and interact with patients and visitors in a professional manner, whether in person or over the phone.
- Maintain an efficient operational flow and escalate any patient or provider concerns as necessary.
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security regulations, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in customer service or patient-facing roles in healthcare is preferred.
Conditions of Employment
Covid Vaccination is mandatory for employment at Jefferson for individuals working in clinical settings.
