We are seeking a highly skilled Proposal Manager to join our Marketing Team in Houston. As a full-time member of the company, this candidate should have experience in AEC proposals (public) and independently manage multiple proposals regularly. This professional will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop compelling proposals for clients, ensuring they adhere to procedures, timelines, and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the End-to-End Proposal Process
    • Review and interpret RFP/RFQs, addressing key elements with the pursuit team
    • Develop and lead the proposal management schedule, establishing priorities, tracking team task assignments, and keeping the team accountable to internal and external deadlines
    • Participate in identifying win themes and differentiators with the technical team
    • Initiate and lead pursuit proposal team activities and meetings
    • Schedule and lead all color reviews
    • Develop kick-off and other meeting agendas
  • Edit and Tailor Existing Materials
    • Edit and tailor existing materials, which may include interviewing staff/technical experts
    • Proofread copy for proposals, presentations, resumes, and project descriptions
  • Assemble and Prepare Documentation
    • Assemble and prepare all documentation using the branding and style guidelines
    • Facilitate quality reviews
    • Ensure RFP compliance/requirements
    • Ensure timely proposal production and delivery
  • Manage Multiple Pursuits and Teams
    • Able to successfully manage and lead multiple pursuits and teams simultaneously
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop RFP/bid requirements that align with customer needs
  • Develop Best Practices
    • Develop and share best practices with team members to enhance the quality and efficiency
  • Supervise and Mentor
    • Opportunity to supervise, train, and mentor junior staff
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related fields
  • Experience
    • A minimum of 5 years of prior work experience in proposal management, preferably in the engineering or construction industry
    • Have experience with successfully leading TxDOT proposals
  • Skills
    • Must be proficient in MS Office, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
    • Strong proofreading, formatting, writing, and editing skills
    • Excellent command of grammar and spelling
  • Soft Skills
    • Self-motivated and works independently with limited supervision
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities
    • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize
