Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and skilled individual to take on the role of a Transportation Construction Engineer. Our transportation division seeks a responsible and knowledgeable engineer who can effectively manage multiple projects, represent our clients with integrity, and collaborate seamlessly with construction teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the identification, marketing, and acquisition of transportation construction management projects from various clients.
  • Assist in the preparation and negotiation of contractual agreements.
  • Act as the resident engineer for construction projects related to transportation.
  • Manage client relationships and project execution.
  • Oversee project management and support team members to ensure timely and profitable completion of all work, adhering to quality standards.
  • Foster respectful working relationships with colleagues and leadership.
  • Engage in the development and mentorship of junior staff.
  • Perform essential construction engineering tasks, including project layout, quantity verification, record keeping, contractor payment estimates, and general inspections.
  • Contribute to the design and planning phases of transportation projects.
  • Participate actively in professional organizations at local, state, and national levels.
  • Engage in company-wide social events.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on transportation or construction.
  • 4 to 10 years of relevant construction experience, particularly with roads and bridges.
  • Willingness to travel for various construction assignments.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical capability to navigate uneven terrain and lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Wisconsin or the ability to obtain licensure within six months.
  • Experience with the WisDOT project development process and construction observation.
  • Certification in the WisDOT Highway Technician Program is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transportation engineering software such as FieldManager and Civil3D.
