Position Overview

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is actively seeking a dedicated Clinical Faculty Member specializing in Ophthalmology, particularly in the area of Retina. This role is designed for a full-time commitment within our esteemed Department of Ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmology services in accordance with the established service rotation and call schedule.
  • Engage in the education and training of residents and medical students, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Uphold high standards of clinical quality and productivity, contributing to departmental activities such as lectures, rounds, and committee assignments.
  • Represent the department professionally, engaging with clinicians, trainees, and staff across various affiliated practices.
  • Establish and nurture referral and educational partnerships within the University of Miami Health System and beyond.
  • Build a regional and national reputation as a clinical leader through active participation in relevant meetings and conferences.
  • Initiate and secure funding for academic and research initiatives, including translational research and clinical trials.
  • Contribute to quality assurance protocols and clinical outcome studies at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
  • Assume administrative and committee responsibilities as assigned by departmental leadership.
  • Be flexible in providing patient care at various satellite locations as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess board certification or eligibility and hold a valid medical license to practice in the state of Florida.
