Energy and Commissioning Specialist/Engineer Job Description

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Energy and Commissioning Specialist/Engineer to join our team in either our Orlando, FL or Raleigh, NC offices.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional to lead energy projects, conduct energy audits, and perform retro-commissioning to optimize energy performance and reduce carbon emissions in our clients' facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Energy Projects: Develop and calibrate detailed energy models, perform Level II energy audits, analyze building systems and energy consumption data, and identify opportunities for energy savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Retro-Commissioning: Lead and execute retro-commissioning projects, conduct on-site assessments, develop and implement corrective action plans, and collaborate with facility managers and stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Work with the Financial Project Manager to keep projects on track, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Support and Training: Provide technical support to clients and internal teams, conduct training sessions, and author articles or present at technical conferences.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in audits, commissioning, or engineering, with a focus on energy projects and retro-commissioning.
  • Proficiency in energy modeling software, strong understanding of building system operation, and experience with ASHRAE guidelines and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
