Job Summary

Colorado State University is seeking a Veterinary Assistant I, II or III to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will provide support to our veterinary team, assisting with animal care and handling, and performing tasks that are structured and designed to provide training and experience in the field of veterinary medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with animal care and handling, including feeding, grooming, and providing a safe and healthy environment for animals.
  • Perform tasks that are structured and designed to provide training and experience in the field of veterinary medicine, under the direct supervision of a veterinarian or veterinary technician.
  • Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to provide high-quality patient care and support.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and best practices in veterinary medicine.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to three years of experience caring for animals or providing animal handling duties, depending on the level of the position.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
