POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the assembly of electronic cable products, components, and systems by executing the following tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interprets work orders and routing instructions, adheres to production schematics and sample assemblies, or receives verbal guidance on tasks to be completed.
  • Bundles and secures wires at specified locations to create harnesses.
  • Utilizes various methods such as crimping, soldering, and fastening to join or secure components.
  • Connects wire ends to components, plugs, or terminal strips.
  • Encases cables in protective tubing or applies sealant around terminals.
  • Conducts continuity tests using testing equipment.
  • Labels completed harnesses with identifying information.
  • Employs cable testing tools to diagnose issues.
  • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
  • Installs assembled components like transformers, resistors, and integrated circuits onto chassis panels.
  • Links component lead wires to printed circuits or connects wires between various components and terminals.
  • Places finished assemblies into cases and cabinets.
  • Adheres to all company policies and quality management standards.
  • Operates safely with hand tools including cutters, screwdrivers, and wire strippers.
Continuously seeks improvement through training and process optimization.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in cable assembly is preferred.
  • Experience with soldering, fiber optic assembly, wire marking, and electrical testing processes is advantageous.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual obligations.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as routing instructions, blueprints, and safety guidelines.
  • Capable of writing basic correspondence.
  • Able to effectively communicate information in individual and small group settings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
