Job Summary

Heilind Mil-Aero is seeking a skilled Cable Assembler Technician to join our team. As a Cable Assembler Technician, you will be responsible for assembling electronic cable assemblies, components, subassemblies, products, or systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work orders and routings, production drawings, and sample assemblies to perform duties.
  • Wrap and tie wires together at designated points to form harnesses.
  • Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, solder, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Attach ends of wires to components, plugs, or terminal strips.
  • Insert cable in plastic tubing or inject plastic sealant around terminals.
  • Test wiring continuity with a continuity tester.
  • Mark identifying data on completed harnesses.
  • Use cable testing equipment to troubleshoot problems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
  • Mount assembled components on chassis panels.
  • Connect component lead wires to printed circuits or route and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in cable assembly preferred.
  • Prior solder, fiber optic assembly, wire marking, and electrical testing processes preferred.

Working Conditions

The Cable Assembler Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
