Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Driver to join our team at Daylight Foods. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely transporting and delivering produce to our clients in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a truck for the purpose of delivering, unloading, and picking up various products for our customers.
  • Frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs 1-50 pounds, up to 100 pounds; frequently reach up to 72" to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart; constantly bend and twist while loading and unloading product, and retrieving items from trailer.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Daylight Foods policies and procedures.
  • Complete Department of Transportation (DOT) logs (electronic or manual as required), company vehicle maintenance reports, and reconcile with appropriate company representative as required.
  • Must be able to follow California labor code 512(a) related lunches and break policy and House of Services (HOS).
  • Good attendance and adherence to work schedule (early morning start time), working on weekend.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform all job functions safely.
  • Excellent customer service skills are a must.
  • Must be able to operate manual Commercial vehicle.
  • Must be able to work schedule dispatch/assigned times.
  • Experience using manual/electronic DOT log sheets.
  • Conducting Safety Inspections Pre/Post Trip Inspections.
  • Good understanding of DOT Rules and Regulations.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Route - Multi stop experience.

Education and Experience:

  • Education/Training: Must have at least 1 yr commercial driving experience and clean Motor Vehicle Report. Must be able to read, write, and communicate English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
