Role Summary:
MV Transportation is looking for a Route Operations Coordinator who will oversee the daily operational activities of our transportation routes and report directly to the Operations Manager. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with client procedures and adherence to company policies. The coordinator will engage in daily communication with drivers and clients, while also organizing activities to guarantee safe, efficient, and timely service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle client inquiries and relay issues to drivers and the Operations Manager as necessary.
  • Monitor communication channels, including radio and telephones, to ensure service quality.
  • Promote positive employee morale and high-quality customer service.
  • Oversee daily driver sign-in and sign-out processes.
  • Assign trips to drivers to ensure equitable distribution across all routes.
  • Evaluate daily operational performance metrics.
  • Participate in performance analysis and operational reviews.
  • Document instances of late or closed routes and inform the Operations Manager accordingly.
  • Respond to incidents and accidents, assisting in managing the situation and gathering necessary information.
  • Accompany drivers to medical facilities when required following an accident or injury, ensuring compliance with post-accident testing protocols.
  • Fill in for vacant shifts as needed to maintain service levels.
  • Conduct checks at the start and end of shifts to ensure timely service and proper documentation.
  • Identify potential route adjustments due to traffic, construction, or accidents.
  • Ensure all operators meet fitness for duty standards and possess the necessary uniforms and certifications.
  • Assist operators with any service or passenger-related issues.
  • Support dispatch and maintenance teams with vehicle changes in the field.
  • Provide feedback to safety and operations teams regarding service-related safety concerns.
  • Assist in evaluating the preventability of incidents and recommend training improvements based on findings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of field observations and ensure proper record-keeping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: One (1) year of experience in a dispatch role.
  • Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in customer service.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Familiarity with Trapeze software is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Professional phone etiquette is essential.
  • Experience in passenger transportation or a similar field is required.
  • Previous training or supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated excellent safety and service record.
  • Knowledge of local operations and training programs.
  • Familiarity with the service area is beneficial.
  • Understanding of client performance requirements.
  • Ability to manage emergency situations effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant vehicles, components, and communication systems.
  • Awareness of State and Federal regulations and corporate safety policies.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Effective communication skills across all departments.
  • Ability to work independently and objectively.
  • Capability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License with necessary endorsements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to organize communication via email.

Starting Pay Rate: $28.00/hour
