Job Description

Impact Automation Inc is seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our business operations team, you will be responsible for managing general accounting and financial processes for our company.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update accounting records and files
  • Ensure transactions are being posted to the correct projects
  • Examine financial policies and handle financial payments and returns, including both sales and income tax in multiple states
  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses)
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Support month-end and year-end closures
  • Prepare documents for audits
  • Apply new financial policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
  • Providing project managers and clients with timely financial reports and budgets, as well as project forecasts
  • Assisting the financial manager as needed
  • Report to the Financial Manager and work to improve financial processes

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have accounting experience at a high growth startup or business unit
  • Advanced experience with financial policies and compliance
  • Experience in a construction, contracting, or other job costing environment is useful

What You Need to Succeed

  • Have 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; very good with spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of an accounting information systems
  • Knowledge of Sales tax compliance software, i.e. Avalara is a plus
  • Good math skills
  • High degree of attention to detail and multi-tasking
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Confidentiality and integrity
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting, business accounting, or finance

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

This is a full-time job working in an office Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will be required to provide documentation demonstrating the right to work in the United States upon hire and subject to the E-Verify program.
