Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team in Monongalia County. As an AEMT, you will provide basic and advanced limited emergency medical care for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and transportation as part of a comprehensive EMS response
  • Perform interventions with equipment typically found on an ambulance
  • Function as a link into the healthcare system and resource for routine and interfacility transports
Requirements
  • National Registry of AEMTs Emergency Medical Technician certification
  • West Virginia Office of EMS AEMT Certification
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Course or ability to successfully complete within six (6) months of hire
  • Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers (AHA Preferred)
  • Successful completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) within (1) month of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • ITLS (International Trauma Life Support) or PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) certification
  • PEPP (Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers), PALS (Pediatric Life Support), or EPC certification
  • AMLS (Advanced Medical List Support) or ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Education and Experience
  • Possession of a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Preferred criteria include associate, bachelor, or graduate level degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary educational institution
  • No minimum requirement for length of service, but preferred candidates have 2 or more years of experience as a field provider at the AEMT level
Work Environment

This position is non-exempt and requires a valid driver's license. The scheduled weekly hours are 24, and the shift is not specified.
