Job Title: Emergency Medical Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team at West Virginia United Health System. As an EMT, you will play a critical role in providing emergency medical care to patients in need.

Job Summary:

The EMT will be responsible for providing basic life support care to patients in emergency situations. This includes assessing patients, providing medical care, and transporting them to medical facilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well under pressure, and have a strong commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic life support care to patients in emergency situations
  • Assess patients and provide medical care as needed
  • Transport patients to medical facilities
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Work well under pressure and make sound decisions in emergency situations
Requirements:
  • Current EMT certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work well under pressure and make sound decisions in emergency situations
  • Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
  • Geriatric Education (GEMS) certification
Work Environment:

The EMT will work in a fast-paced emergency medical services environment, responding to emergency calls and providing medical care to patients. The ideal candidate will be able to work well in a team environment and be able to adapt to changing situations.

Physical Requirements:

The EMT will be required to lift and carry patients, as well as work in a variety of environments, including emergency vehicles and medical facilities. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to utilize computing systems required for essential job functions
