Job Title: Teacher Assistant

Compensation: $13.26 - $15.50 per hour

Incentive: This role includes a potential hiring bonus of $1,500.00, distributed in two installments after specified periods of employment.

Role Summary:

The Teacher Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Head Start Teacher by providing educational experiences for children aged 3 to 5 years. Responsibilities include developing and executing tailored lesson plans, nurturing relationships with children and their families, and creating safe and stimulating learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring, documenting, and evaluating student progress.
  • Support the Teacher in analyzing educational data.
  • Help develop and implement lesson plans based on student interests and developmental needs.
  • Engage families in activities that enhance parenting skills and confidence.
  • Conduct family meetings and home visits.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ensure adherence to Bauer policies, state regulations, and Head Start standards.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and professional development sessions.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate reliable attendance and effectively fulfill all essential duties. The following qualifications are required:

  • Current enrollment in a Child Development Associate (CDA) program or completion of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • A valid Indiana driver's license and compliance with insurance requirements.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Dedication to providing high-quality services to children and families in need.
  • Openness to learning and applying new skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Understanding of child development and safety standards.
  • Capability to design effective lesson plans that support growth.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in Spanish is advantageous.
