Healthcare Customer Service Representative

Overview:
At NovaCare Rehabilitation, we strive to provide an outstanding experience for our patients from the moment they arrive at our facilities.
Your station at the front desk will serve as a hub for patient advocacy, facilitating communication through various channels, handling patient payments, and utilizing multiple software applications.
Your contributions will significantly enhance each patient's experience, even before they enter the treatment area.Details/Schedule:
Position Type:
This is a flexible role that involves covering multiple locations within a designated area, along with set hours at the primary clinic.
Employment Type:
Full-Time Float
Working Hours:
Specific hours will be assigned, including evenings and weekends, ensuring a total of 40 hours per week.
Compensation:
Starting pay is competitive and based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for candidates who are adaptable, patient-focused, exceptional communicators, detail-oriented, and collaborative team members.
In this position, your typical responsibilities will include:
Welcoming new and returning patients upon arrival, registering new patients, and providing essential information about their visit
Coordinating patient appointments in person or via phone
Maintaining regular communication with various stakeholders, including but not limited to: legal offices, insurance providers, translation services, operational leaders, and business development teams
Collecting co-payments from patients, managing payer approvals, and conducting insurance verifications
Providing patients with relevant information regarding their upcoming appointments during checkout
Addressing inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues
Qualifications:
Minimum
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license is necessary
Physical Demands:
Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout the workday
Manual dexterity to enable typing (including 10-key) throughout the workday
Capability to lift up to 25 lbs safely from ground to waist using proper techniques
Ability to carry office supplies weighing up to 10 lbs
Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize individuals, and comprehend written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively to understand and provide directions
