Job Summary

The Staff Accountant plays a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity of OmniTRAX by performing a variety of accounting activities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position is responsible for executing monthly close activities, identifying process improvements, and collaborating with team members to achieve efficient and effective performance of accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general accounting activities, including calculating, preparing, and entering month-end closing entries, maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, and performing account analysis.
  • Participate in reporting, balance sheet reviews, and fluctuation analysis.
  • Prepare audit work papers and ad hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with research, analysis, and documentation of technical accounting issues.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments on systems and process improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong relationship builder with internal employees and external business associates.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of methods and techniques of financial analysis and research.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Prioritize work and multi-task effectively to meet deadlines and business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year accounting experience with general ledger and preparing journal entries.
  • Previous experience in Rail Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing, and/or Oil and Gas industries.
  • MBA or equivalent.
  • NetSuite experience or other large ERP software.
  • Public Accounting experience.
