Job Summary

The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist (Speech Pathologist 2) provides comprehensive speech therapy services to pediatric patients across the age continuum, catering to diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. The role involves direct and indirect patient care services, including evaluations, goal setting, and intervention planning.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient evaluations using speech-language pathology tests and measurements
Develop and implement therapeutic intervention plans to address various physical and cognitive impairments
Maintain accurate patient records related to the delivery of patient care services
Supervise support personnel, including Rehabilitation Aides and Speech-Language Pathology students and clinical fellows

Requirements

Master's degree with clinical fellowship
Minimum one year of patient care experience
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
Ability to recognize signs of distress
Basic computer skills, including work within Epic electronic medical record
Possession of good interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and self-initiation skills

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum one year of licensed experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist working with pediatric populations
Prior speech pathology experience in an academic medical center environment
Prior experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team

Knowledge and Skills

Pediatrics feeding and swallowing
Pediatrics Modified Barium Swallow Study
Current Pediatric FEES and/or MBSS competence
Possession of or proven eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board of California
Possession of or proven eligibility for CPR certification
