We are currently on the lookout for a proactive individual to take on the role of Building Systems Commissioning Engineer. This position is crucial in delivering dependable, prompt, and efficient support to our Commissioning & Building Analytics (CBA) team. You will collaborate with a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders across all organizational levels. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong organizational capabilities, and a collaborative spirit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate expertise in all commissioning processes and deliverables as outlined in ASHRAE, CSA, and LEED standards.
  • Possess a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including inspections, testing, and related commissioning tasks.
  • Oversee, assess, and implement all aspects of commissioning projects, providing outstanding technical and field support throughout the design, pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases.
  • Collaborate with team members, external consultants, and contractors to lead cross-functional teams on various initiatives.
  • Develop comprehensive Commissioning Plans and Specifications.
  • Manage commissioning projects by creating detailed activity schedules and work sequences.
  • Conduct field-based commissioning activities, including site assessments and contractor oversight.
  • Prepare and approve Start-up and test documentation; witness contractor execution.
  • Formulate Functional and Integrated Systems Test scripts; oversee their execution.
  • Review Commissioning Design Drawings and Specifications, as well as shop drawings.
  • Facilitate Commissioning Meetings.
  • Utilize calibrated testing equipment essential for the commissioning process.
  • Test mechanical and HVAC&R systems, building management systems, plumbing systems, lighting controls, and power systems.
  • Track and resolve issues through an Issues Log.
  • Conduct seasonal and performance tests.
  • Compile project documentation into tailored Systems Manuals.
  • Develop and assess training programs for installed systems.
  • Support all project documentation requirements and field activities comprehensively.
Additional Expectations:
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to client locations.
  • Assist the team in managing a demanding workload.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • A recognized technical degree or equivalent; an Engineering Degree is preferred.
  • LEED AP certification is a plus.
  • Experience with mechanical testing equipment and the ability to analyze and report on results.
  • A minimum of 2 years in mechanical or electrical engineering and/or field-testing.
  • Strong data management capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage multiple project timelines.
Desired:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is advantageous.
  • Any combination of CEM/CBCP/CPMP certifications is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment and the ability to analyze and report on results is a plus.
Compensation:

Estimated total compensation for this position is competitive and includes potential bonuses. The compensation range is based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and market alignment.

Location:

This position is primarily on-site.
