Position Title: Passenger Vehicle Operator (must possess a passenger endorsement on driver's license)
Work Schedule: Part-Time
Location: HallKeen Assisted Living Communities
Role Summary:
The Passenger Vehicle Operator is responsible for delivering safe and respectful transportation services while supporting the Activity Director. This role includes overseeing vehicle maintenance and ensuring optimal performance for longevity.
Key Responsibilities:
The following essential functions are fundamental to this position and must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Transport residents to various destinations in accordance with a predetermined schedule.
- Assist residents safely in and out of the vehicle.
- Secure wheelchairs to ensure passenger safety during transit.
- Adhere to safe driving practices consistently.
- Maintain cleanliness and service the vehicle with necessary fuel and lubricants, and coordinate maintenance and repairs.
- Implement and monitor daily and weekly vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance, maintaining accurate records.
- Support the Activity Department in organizing activities and programs as required.
- Assist the Maintenance Department as needed.
- Ensure daily submission of travel expense charges to the business office.
- Maintain a driving record that aligns with company standards.
- Manage emergency situations and provide basic First Aid when necessary.
- Report any potentially hazardous conditions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a Passenger Endorsed License.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with one to three months of related experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of five years of proven safe driving experience with an accident-free record and knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to operate various passenger vehicles, including buses and limousines, and handle basic maintenance tools.
- Experience with emergency vehicle repairs and basic tire changes.
- Familiarity with local streets within an 8-mile radius of the community.
