About the Role

InsideHigherEd is seeking a highly skilled Retirement Plan Manager to join our team. As a key member of our benefits administration team, you will be responsible for the daily coordination of our retirement plan programs and supporting the activities of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Retirement Plan Administration: Assist the Director with retirement plan activities, processes, and procedures for our mandatory, voluntary, and executive retirement plans.
  • Compliance and Audits: Conduct annual audits and ensure all plans are administered in accordance with the plan documents and in compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Vendor Management: Respond to retirement plan-related inquiries from vendors and our HR/Benefit professionals, and work closely with Shared Services on operational procedures related to plan administration.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Develop reporting surrounding retirement plan enrollment statistics and assist the Director in partnering with the Retirement Plan Advisory and Investment Review Committee members in gathering data to support the overall long-term retirement plan strategy.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and maintain process workflows, maintain retirement plan files and contracts, and maintain and track retirement plan budget.
  • Communication and Training: Coordinate internal/external meetings, travel, and handling of invoices, and oversee and maintain updates needed to the Retirement Plan website and any other new and ongoing communication and documentation necessary.
  • Retirement Plan Communications: Prepare, coordinate, deliver, and distribute all retirement plan communications and training materials for system-wide distribution.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: BA or BS degree and 3-5 years of experience in retirement plan administration.
  • Professional Certifications: Retirement Plan or benefits plan administration professional certification, i.e., RPA, CEBS, CRSP, etc.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and other relevant federal and state laws governing retirement plans, knowledge of HR and payroll systems integration, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
