Role OverviewThe Senior Retirement Benefits Processor is responsible for executing complex technical and administrative functions associated with the evaluation and verification of retirement benefit inquiries and applications.
This role necessitates a commitment to maintaining data confidentiality and integrity, particularly when handling Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
Key Responsibilities- Accurately processing retirement benefit applications and conducting necessary research.
- Responding to inquiries from participants, beneficiaries, and union representatives regarding retirement benefits.
- Assessing eligibility for benefits and gathering essential documentation to ensure timely processing.
- Initiating communication with relevant parties and ensuring data accuracy and updates.
- Managing Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) and resolving any payment discrepancies.
- Generating various reports and supporting special projects as required.
- Effectively addressing escalated issues and assisting in the distribution of Annual Benefit Statements.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least two years of experience in retirement benefit processing.
- Strong dedication to customer service and integrity.
- Ability to interpret business documents, technical procedures, and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficient in numerical calculations and computer operations.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, as required by location.
- Previous experience in retirement plan administration and third-party administration roles.

Work Environment and Physical Demands- Extended periods of desk work and computer usage.
- Occasional lifting of items up to 15 pounds.
