Assistant Building Manager

New England College of Optometry is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Building Manager - Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our historic Back Bay campus and two eye care clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Manager of Building & Grounds in the management of building operations, including opening and closing procedures, event management, and special projects.
- Manage vendor activity, including project managing small construction tasks, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Perform a variety of tasks, including maintenance repairs, preventative maintenance, light construction, room setup/turnover, snow removal, safety inspections, and other tasks to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Be proficient in tasks such as light electrical work, basic plumbing, event setup, room setup/turnover, wall repair, patching, painting, furniture reconditioning, tile repair, grouting, and snow removal.
Requirements:
- Full background check
- Prior leadership and/or project management experience preferred
- Current MA Driver's license at the time of hire
- Clean driving history
- The ability to speak, read, and write English clearly
- Basic computer and smartphone skills
- Ability to work a full-time, flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
- Ability to function as a key carrier to open and close the facility
- Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and work in small spaces, working at heights from ladders, scaffolding, etc.
What We Offer:
- Yearly salary range: $63,000 - $65,000
