We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director to join our team at Health Resources in Action. The successful candidate will have a strong background in capacity building assistance, grantmaking, and/or quality improvement, with a proven track record of leading large projects and teams.

The Associate Director will work collaboratively with our cross-disciplinary team to develop and deliver our innovative grantmaking program, Project Build Up (PBU), as well as oversee and collaborate on evaluation and quality improvement tasks for this and the Massachusetts Technical Assistance Center for Problem Gambling Treatment (M-TAC) programs.

The ideal candidate will be a strong program and team leader, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders. They will also have a deep understanding of the problem gambling treatment capacity building landscape in Massachusetts and a passion for advancing health and racial equity.

The Associate Director will be responsible for managing PBU's $500k annual grantmaking program, collaborating with internal grantmaking staff and subject matter experts, and overseeing quality improvement activities for our problem gambling treatment capacity building services across two projects. They will also contribute to programmatic growth through team and organizational collaboration to meet the goals defined in our scope of work, and in alignment with our funder's needs.

The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in public health, business administration, management, human services administration, health policy, or a related field, and at least five years of relevant experience in program and team management. They will also have excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and competing demands and deliverables.

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $85,000, depending on experience and skills, and a comprehensive benefits package. The Associate Director will be supervised by a Managing Director in the CBA Cluster and will have the flexibility to work remotely from home and/or in our Boston office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage PBU's $500k annual grantmaking program
  • Collaborate with internal grantmaking staff and subject matter experts
  • Oversee quality improvement activities for our problem gambling treatment capacity building services
  • Contribute to programmatic growth through team and organizational collaboration
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies based on experience, trends, and client needs
  • Provide technical and content expertise on capacity building, grantmaking, and/or quality improvement to support and enhance other projects and services at HRiA

Requirements:

  • At least five years of relevant experience in program and team management
  • Master's degree in public health, business administration, management, human services administration, health policy, or a related field
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and competing demands and deliverables
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders
