Job Title: Patient Access Specialist

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patients through our healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital, ensuring accurate and timely registration and billing processes.
  • Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard, relaying incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as applicable, while providing excellent customer service.
  • Conduct audits of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness, providing statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
  • Pre-register patient accounts prior to patient visits, collecting demographic, insurance, and financial information.
  • Explain general consent for treatment forms to patients, obtain necessary signatures, and witness names.
  • Distribute patient education documents, such as Important Message from Medicare, Important Message from Tricare, and other relevant forms.
  • Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems, selecting applicable insurance plan codes and entering benefit data into the system.
  • Screen medical necessity using the Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software, informing Medicare patients of possible non-payment of tests and distributing the ABN as necessary.
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of customer service experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Certification in Revenue Cycle (CRCR) required within 9 months of hire (company-paid).
