Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Legal Talent Technology & Analytics plays a pivotal role in enhancing systems, data governance, reporting, and insights within the Legal Talent sector, which encompasses Legal Recruiting and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion ("DEI"). This position is focused on utilizing technology, analytical skills, and project management expertise to formulate and implement a strategic roadmap that improves the effectiveness of current systems, boosts data quality, broadens insights, and supports the overarching goals of the Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of Legal Talent Development, Director of Legal Recruiting Analytics, and other senior leaders in Legal Talent, Legal Recruiting, and DEI to design and deploy technology and data solutions that align with the Firm's business objectives.
  • Evaluate new systems, perform analyses, provide recommendations, and spearhead the implementation of a new staffing platform.
  • Work alongside senior leadership teams across Legal Talent departments to facilitate the effective utilization of core departmental systems, data, and workflow solutions.
  • Review and document existing departmental processes for accuracy and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Advance the Department's data management initiatives, ensuring reliable system relationships, data integrity, and alignment with evolving business requirements.
  • Create detailed reports and analyze data from various Legal Talent systems for management insights.
  • Collaborate with data scientists in other Firm departments to conduct advanced analyses.
  • Stay informed about relevant external data and recommend what information can be integrated into reporting based on technical viability.
  • Regularly engage with management to discuss project requests, identify issues, and propose effective solutions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors related to relevant systems.
  • Keep abreast of trends and advancements in software providers, vendors, and technology.
  • Develop and deliver training on both core and advanced systems functionalities.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across HR, the Office of the General Counsel, IT, Finance, and Knowledge teams.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, Knowledge, and other departments to align project strategies, resources, and plans.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to ensure adherence to data privacy and protection standards.
  • Lead special projects and undertake additional duties as required.

Essential Skills

  • Proven organizational and project management capabilities, including the ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, manage risks, solve complex issues, and communicate progress effectively.
  • A blend of strategic and critical thinking skills, along with strong collaboration and analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to clearly articulate and lead discussions on analysis results and project outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with a diverse group of subject matter experts and managers.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, take initiative, remain adaptable, handle confidential information appropriately, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
  • Extensive experience in database analysis, including writing SQL queries and retrieving data for reporting purposes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly in advanced Excel functionalities (macros, vLookup, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of Workday, Micron Systems, viDesktop, viConnect, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of statistical and machine learning-based analyses, including predictive, descriptive, and inferential methodologies.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R and Python.
  • Experience with report writing software, working with APIs, and troubleshooting data and reporting challenges.
  • Expertise in business intelligence and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Quicksight, etc.).

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, with prior exposure to a law firm or professional services environment being advantageous.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, finance, or related fields is required.

Preferred Education

  • An advanced degree or equivalent experience in business strategy, computer science, data science, or analytics is preferred.

Compensation Information

The estimated base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $210,000. The actual salary offered will be contingent upon various factors, including the applicant's qualifications, relevant experience, educational background, certifications, and other professional credentials.
